As you leave Vathy heading north, a narrow  road leading to the Cave of the Nymphs, winds up through the hills behind the Capital. Although the cave itself is a little disappointing, the journey to it reveals some spectacular views across the island. Terraced hills, mountain ridges, sea and would you believe it? Ostriches. New houses are popping up everywhere.  No wonder, it's very beautiful.
