Ores Director, Dimitris Danis (Above 2nd from Right) joins the 3rd Year Artists

Teacher, Dimitris Morfessis took the 3rd class of Vathy High School on an excursion to Parnitha after the 2007 fires to photograph the devistation the fires had left.

The students interpreted these photographs into paintings and the paintings were then interpreted into Prints by Dimitris Danis. The original paintings are the centerpiece of the exhibition, scattered on the floor with soil, encompassing the idea that growth comes out of the ashes.

As visitors to the Exhibition arrived, students would take them around the Gallery enthusiastically describing and discussing each Print.

 
Left - Julietta is the artist of the Print ithacagreece.com bought. It was hard to make a decision on which one to select, as it was for the other visitors who bought a Print to dontate to the school. All the pieces are splendid and so well presented by Dimitris Danis with help from Gerry Karavias, Ithaca photoshop, for his help with the Prints.

Opening night at the 'After The Fire' Exhibition was an excellent introduction to the talents of the 3rd Year Students of Vathy High School. It is also a great opportunity to donate to the school via the purchase of one of the excellent prints on display. The exhibition continues until the end of the week. It's worthwhile to get along and picking out a print for your gallery at home.
