Vathy Square with Ithaca's Farmer's Market and Markab Trio playing 'live' - Saturday 11th August 2018

Each Summer at this time of year, there is a farmer's market where locals who offer something home grown or made themselves, be it food or wares, art or handicrafts. Locals get to sell them in the Vathy village square. There are lots of local products on offer. Would be great if Ithaki, like other places around the world, could have a market every Sunday morning where all the locals can offer what they have, whether it be food or art or clothing and anything else that market offer.

Also in the village square, was Markab Trio setting up for their night of music from around the globe. What a special performance these three offered. Beautifully played and sung songs, but especially the Greek songs, which were particularly beautiful. Guitar, vocals and violin. It wasn't long before people began to congregate to fill up the square with colour and anticipation, even while the trio were having their soundcheck. A sultry warm night of great music in the Square.
