Stavros is a Stavros local, a retired builder and an ex-Kefalonian who settled on Ithaki with his wife Emilia in 1960. They married in Kefalonia on the mountain directly opposite Lefki. The magnetic pull of Ithaki must have been great to get Stavros across the strait and on Ithaki for good. In retirement, Stavros and wife Emilia enjoy the simple things, like a good crop of olives and the oil made from it.
