January means rain, frost and cold, dramatic skies and seas. It's not unusual to not see a single soul in the streets for days on end. The Ithacan Winter can be one of isolation and despair if alone and without things to keep you occupied, but on the occasional sunny day, there's nothing better than to take a walk into the hills to contemplate the world around you, a world that seems so far away and beyond comprehension when living a Winter on Ithaki.
