Ithaca slowly winds down in September. It's a time when locals around the island take stock and tell tales of the Summer gone by. Tourists still come to the island to enjoy a quieter, more relaxed environment, rather than that of hectic August, but not too many. The sea is warm and so are the shortening days, but nights begin to cool with an air of closing down. It's a great time for long walks and reflection while sitting on a rock high on the island. In September, the Summer mist lifts to reveal crisp views and iridescent sunrises and sunsets and the grasshoppers' trill. no longer deafens at all hours of the day.
