Kioni burns Judas

Easter brings many back to the island and Kionis ceremony has all of Ithaca In it's street.  Fireworks at the end of Kioni Pier, concluded the night which then turned into dawn at Spavento Bar

Pavlos (left) and Spiros (right) are responsible for Judas' reincarnation and disintegration, and they look very pleased with themselves as they watch him going up in flames.  Christos in the middle bathes in their glory.

Anastasio waits patiently to douce Judas in petrol and set him alight.

On Ithaki, Kioni is the mecca of

religious ritual

The post service parade led by Pappas Babbis takes Jesus on the cross to the Pier where fireworks explode over a calm bay and then around the village to finish before the Good Friday ritual concludes.
