Deep into the plataeu beneath the mountain village of Anoghi, the Moraitis family have restored the small chapel of Ag. Georgios which was celebrated with a big feast for the locals.

The rocky, but beautifully wild landscape of this side of the island is in stark contrast the lush, green valleys and hills below. Here, the rocks have claimed the ground for themselves, still the Moraitis family have captured something magical.

Locals made their way up the mountain and then down the narrow country road that leads here early in the morning for the service, but also for the feast to which everyone added something.

There were 4 animals on the open fire spit roast. There were tables of cakes and desserts, salads and much more to feed the hungry masses who came out on this magnificently 'Spring has sprung' day.
