Wednesday 1st
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! HERE'S HOPING 2020 IS GOOD TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF US. AND IF WE'RE GOOD TO THE PLANET, THE PLANET WILL BE GOOD TO US.
Above - Young north Ithacans going around the northern island singing the Calendar, which is traditional in Greece.
Thursday 2nd - So the first day of the new decade is over and things feel the same as the last day of the previous decade. The island is pretty quiet at the moment. Seems alot of people have taken this opportunity to go away for their annual holiday. As the summer months are the time to make a living, locals wait until winter to travel.
Friday 3rd - Below - View from Kalivia village across to Stavros. From Kalivia there is a road and then path that leads down to the farside of Polis Bay. A lovely walk with some great views.
Monday 6th - With Epiphany ceremony this morning, Greece celebrates a long weekend. Pics to come.

Tuesday 7th - Yesterday Greece celebrated Epiphany. Click Here or on photograph below for more images of the day in Kioni and Frikes.
Wednesday 8th - Not many people around, but plenty of live stock.
Friday 10th - Already a 1/3 through January. Perfect weather, albeit quite chilly. Blue skies and sunshine make such a difference though. Below - Looking across to Atokos from outside of Anoghi.

Saturday 11th - Fine weather continues. Old locals say that whatever the weather is on the day of the full moon, that's how it will continue until the next full moon. Last night's moon hung huge in the sky above Greece.
Sunday 12th - January is blessing us with some fantastic weather. It's cold, but bright and mostly sunny with our famous blue skies finally re-appearing. Below - Views around Polis Bay and Cavos.
Tuesday 14th - We may not have alot of sunshine today, but even on the worst days, Ithaki skies are brighter and friendlier.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Wednesday 1st
A mixed bag of weather. One thing is for sure though, the temperatures have dropped significantly, we may see some snow this year.
Thursday 2nd
Friday 3rd - Below - Exoghi. Since the Cafe/Restaurant opened in Exoghi, there's alot of traffic to this little mountain village. Walkers especially, will be very happy to have a place to rest.
Monday 6th - Most of the nightlights may have been extinguished through the winter months, but there's still some celebrations going on around the island into the wee hours of the morning.

It's been chilly, but fine. A big relief after such a wet November and December.
Friday 10th - Perfect weather to walk around the tracks of Ithaca.
Saturday 11th
Sunday 12th - Peaceful views at this time of year. The yachts are gone and the bays regenerate after an enslaught of motors.
Tuesday 14th - Can you believe we're already half way through January? It won't be long before Easter is upon us and then quickly on it's heals, the 2020 Summer Season.
