What's New On Ithaca Greece
December 2023
Friday 1st - Hello December. Soon the Christmas lights will light up the night sky again. The weekend has a forecast of rain, but today, supposedly, it's just going to be partially cloudy.
Thursday 7th - Unfortunately I have been ill with pneumonia. Still recovering, but hopefully I'll be able to post a little more now. Below - Marmakas

Sunday 10th - With rain forecast for today, it was nice to be out in the sunshine yesterday and the mild temperature of around 14C. As next week progresses, the temperatures are set to rise into the high teens again by the end of the week. Very uncharacteristic for this time of year.
Monday 11th - Rainy days ahead.
Wednesday 13th - A couple of nights ago, Christmas celebrations began in Vathy with the lighting of the tree in the village square. A big turn out with lots of food and music and fun. CLICK HERE or on photograph below for more pics.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Friday 1st
Not much to tell at this time of year. When the sun is out, so are the locals, either in the village squares or out in their olive groves. When it rains, the island becomes very quiet.
Thursday 7th - Below - Marmakas Beach in the north of Ithaca.
Above - Exoghi.
Sunday 10th - A mobile unit of Kethea was in Vathy. KETHEA provides counselling and drug treatment, family support, health care, education and training, legal support and assistance reintegrating into society and re-entering the world of work.
Monday 11th - The whole week ahead is forecast with rain. Here's hoping for some sunny breaks.
Wednesday 13th - Unexpectedly, the days are heating up again.
