What's New On Ithaca Greece
January 2023
| Sunday 1st - Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year. We are probably not out of the worst of it yet with energy crisis, pandemics, flus and sundry, but every cloud has a silver lining, even the stormy ones.
| Wednesday 4th - Apologies for the delay in uploading more news and photos, but I took a few days break. We're back stronger than ever for this new year. Below - Exoghi views.
Above - Agia Marina church in Exoghi. Still in need of reparations after the last earthquake which is now years past. It's always been the center of this northern village of Exoghi and of northern Ithaca, as the domes are seen from all the low lying areas.
| Friday 6th - Very humid on Ithaca today with some fog and a chilly 11C, but with Epiphany (blessing of the waters by cross throwing and retrieving) around Greece, people will be out and about.
| Sunday 8th - On Friday 6th of January, Greece celebrates Epiphany, the blessings of the water. Here are some pics compliments of Yiorgos Karantzis from Spavento Cafe Bar of the Kioni celebration.
| Tuesday 10th - On Sunday evening at the Cultural center in Vathy, the Council had it's annual Pita cutting for the New Year. Wishing everyone a Happy 2023. Click Here or on the photo below for some pics.
| Wednesday 12th - A bit of a rainy day yesterday, occasionally wild, but before that we had some blue skies and sunshine. Below - Frikes the way it's never seen during the Summer.

Sunday 1st
The fun in New Year's resolutions is to break them. Happy New Year to all!!
Exoghi is so underrated. It has some of the most spectacular views, not only across northern Ithaca, but also beyond, across the Ionian.
| Wednesday 4th - We've been concentrating on the lesser traveled areas of Ithaca because although they are not on the seafront, they are worth the exposure. Amazing views, kind local communities.
| Friday 6th - Happy Epiphany for Greece.
