What's New On Ithaca Greece
December 2024
Sunday 1st - A rainy start to December with storm clouds gathering above and rain bucketing down bucketing down, sending the opening for Christmas celebrations inside to the Cultural Center in Vathy instead of the town square. CLICK HERE or on photograph below.
Friday 6th - Mostly sunny again, a nice change after so many storms and rain.
Wednesday 11th - The island feels very serene and peaceful as we head into the Christmas and New Year period. Sometimes the sun shines, sometimes it rains, but nothing too severe so far.
Monday 16th - The weather bad is has a bit of everything, but the temps are dropping as we head deeper into the winter months. One thing is certain, winter gives us some very clear views into the distance.
Wednesday 18th - There is supposed to be a big drop in temps by the weekend, but for now it's mostly sunny with a mid teen temp. Very pleasant. Time for a walk around Ithaca's natural beauty.
Saturday 21st - Just a few days to Christmas for those who celebrate it and Ithaca, like elsewhere is into being festive, not to forget, also creative, around this time of the year. Click Here or on photo below for this year's Forky's Theatre Group performance of TSAPATSOULIES.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Sunday 1st
Friday 6th - Over the winter there'll be lots of works going on to make the island more fire safe over the Summers, but for now it's all about the olive harvest.
Wednesday 11th - After such a very, long hot Summer, Ithaca really needed the rain to green up the island again. It's also a nice cosy respite after months and months of near heatwave temperatures this year.
Monday 16th - Below Ag. Barbara chapel above Stavros.
Wednesday 18th - Vathy (Deep) Bay is truly a natural wonder.
