What's New On Ithaca Greece
June 2018
Friday 1st - So many bus tours coming to the island, sometimes it's a tight fit and a long wait if you get stuck behind one while it manouvres around tight bends and down narrow roads with oncoming cars.

Above - It appears 4 of the 80 year old pines were chopped down next to Sotiros church for the playground to be rejuvenated..
Saturday 2nd - Magnificent weather for the first day of June, officially Summer.

Below - The Kentro Cafe re-opened yesterday with a little opening celebration for Stavros. The village is really getting it's act together with every corner of town giving something special.
Above - Am I harping on about this playground again?? Yes, I am, but now it's done there's not much point complaining (well there is, but I don't think anyone is listening), only to say that I hope the kids now don't get sun stroke from lack of shade.
Sunday 3rd - It's a sure sign of Summer when the photos go away from inland and concentrate in and on and around the water. The water dominates this season.
Wednesday 6th - Today at midday the island says a formal goodbye to Denis Sikiotis whose family is giving a memorial gathering at his home in Stavros. Denis passed away late last year and always wanted his ashes to be returned to his Ithaki.
Thursday 7th - Yesterday a Memorial party was held for a beloved Ithaca, Denis Sikiotis. Click Here or on photo below for details.

Ithaca Greece Summer Fun
Friday 1st
The Kentro Cafe reopens today in Stavros. The Eggenia is at 6pm. See you there.
Saturday 2nd - Another warm day with lots of yachts in the harbours around the island.
Sunday 3rd - Weekends are usually a little quieter around the island, but if you're looking for feet on the ground, then Vathy is your best bet. Early morning in Vathy has a special atmosphere.
Wednesday 6th - Summer days make everything fine.
Thursday 7th - Below Fionn Sikiotis gives a speech at his father's memorial in Stavros yesterday.
