What's New On Ithaca Greece
July 2018
Friday 27th - There's no point talking about the weather anymore. It's not what it's supposed to be and there's nothing we can do about it other than enjoy sleeping better at night.
Due to the horror of the fires, some of the concerts this week have been cancelled. Best check the council site for notices. ithaki.gr
Saturday 28th - Yesterday evening had an eerie feel about it. Maybe it was just knowing about the moon eclipse that made every cloud or wisp of air feel strange or maybe it was REALLY strange.
On Ithaki we had a perfect view of the eclipse of the moon. The clouds cleared just in time to watch the transformation.

So apparently everyone on the island is on Fibre optic internet except for Stavros. The reason? Well, apparently 'the speed is not so bad" so there's no hurry to change it. If you live in and around the Stavros area, please ring OTE and complain as loud and hard as you can. This is so unfair on all of us here in this village being kept behind. Even the shepherds on the mountain have faster internet. That's not even a joke!
Tuesday 31st - Unfortunately I missed the Perahori Wine Festival and Mandolonita in Lefki due to a migraine, but I heard both were alot of fun. On this last day of July, still and a cloudless sky, we have the hope that Summer will not be as fickle in August as it was in June and July. The cicadas are thunderously loud as they are every year and there's a heat mist floating across the mountain tops and blurring out the not so distant shores of the mainland and other islands between us and it.
